Public Health Experience: HIV/AIDS
Public Health Experience: I have volunteer experience with AID Atlanta and Queen City Harm Reduction. As a former Grant Writer for Status: Home, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing housing and supportive services to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS, I successfully secured funding to advance the organization’s mission. Additionally, I interned at the DeKalb Community Service Board, where I played a key role in organizing public health events, including National HIV Testing Day.
Why did you chose the UNC Charlotte MPH program? Location, affordability and accredited.
About Me: My name is Diane, and I’m excited to be part of the UNCC MPH program. Growing up, my dad’s career in the Navy meant I moved around a lot, giving me a taste of life in various places and cultures. I’ve had the unique experience of working at Zoo Atlanta and Chimp Haven, the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary, where I developed a deep appreciation for wildlife and conservation. Currently, I’m the Associate Director of Development Operations at Moishe House, where I help build vibrant communities. In my free time, you’ll find me with a book in hand or out on a run. I also have a slight (okay, maybe not so slight) obsession with true crime. It’s my way to unwind, and it means I always have a fun fact or two about forensic science at the ready.
