MSPH Program to become MPH Degree
On August 15th, 2016, the Department of Public Health Sciences’ MSPH program will become an MPH degree!
This name change does not alter curriculum, accreditation, or commitment to preparing public health practitioner scholars. Students will continue to complete 36-39 credit hours of classroom instruction; a 3 credit field experience or internship; and a capstone experience for 45 credits total. All students will continue to take the required research classes that ground our students in research methods which make our emphasis on training practitioner/scholars unique.
The Department believes that this name change will strengthen the visibility and reputation of our program, making it more competitive but enhancing the learning environment for our students.
All current MSPH students enrolled on August 15, will become MPH students and will graduate with an MPH degree.
