Cabarrus Health Alliance working with Kannapolis Intimidators Baseball Stadium to offer healthier food
Meghan Hamrock Charpentier, UNC Charlotte Public Health Sciences BSPH alumni, and public health program manager at Cabarrus Health Alliance, worked with the Kannapolis Intimidators Baseball Stadium to offer healthier food items (ex. fruit, hummus, veggie sticks, turkey hot dogs) this summer. Dr Racine and PHS doctoral student, Corliss Solomon, found that the sales of the healthier food items increased significantly on “Get Healthy Nights” —games where the healthier food items were ‘buy one, get one.’ See more on ‘Get Healthy Nights’ at http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/community/cabarrus/article29273176.html
